When I was researching the music for my new album and tour, A Day Will Come, I travelled across the 27 EU member states, discovering tunes and being inspired by a huge number of musicians. And what stood out for me more than anything else, was that music cuts right across borders – the joy you feel when listening to a lively Swedish polska, an Italian tarantella, Irish jig or French bourée is universal!
So, on a day like today, it’s more important than ever that we celebrate the fact we have more in common than divides us and rejoice in our common culture and heritage.
The words spoken in this film by Polish poet, Bodhan Piasecki are his take on how EU nationals feel about the UK leaving the European Union, after they’ve made the UK their home – enjoy Bodhan’s poetry live as part of the A Day Will Come tour and on the album.
Please share this video with your friends, cheer them up if they’re feeling blue today and remind them that, A Day Will Come…
Thank you to Adrian Burrows for making this fabulous film and to Arts Council England and Warwick Arts Centre for making this tour possible.
